The indigenous Soliga tribe of the B.R. Hills in Karnataka are a community of Adivasi people who have lived in harmony with the forest for centuries. The Jilla Budkattu Girijana Abhivruddhi Sangha (the community's local welfare organisation), led by members of the Soliga community, supports various development efforts in the area including public health initiatives, education and tribal rights advocacy.
Your support will directly contribute to the young people of the community seeking education. In 2022, a donation of Rs. 60,000 supported a Tribal College Student Motivation Workshop for 260 Adivasi college students across the B.R. Hills area. The Rs. 1,00,000 goal of this fundraiser will help sponsor over 350 Adivasi college students to attend the workshops. These workshops provide students with skills development, guidance and support while pursuing their education from pre-university to master's and doctorate levels. With this funding, the Sangha provides transportation, food and other necessary help to allow students from across Chamarajnagar district to attend the workshops.
