Grihasthi is a grassroots initiative by three recent 12th passouts who decided to give back to society in this lockdown. We located a basti that exists right behind a gargantuan mall, a mall that we, and all of our friends were guilty of frequenting. The basti has 200 people. Further exacerbating their plight was the fact that the pandemic and the lockdown made already negligible job opportunities even more scarce. Its inevitable effect: their means of livelihood vanishing into thin air. We raised whatever funds we could through our social circle, but now we turn to you to help support these people. We request you to kindly donate to feed them and help sustain their livelihoods a little while longer. We conduct weekly food drives, in which we provide food kits that contain the following:
2 Dettol Soap
Cooking Oil 1/2
Besides these food drives, we also strive to aid them with their medical ailments by providing them with health checkups and consultations as well as medicines. We also fixed their water supply. Our eventual goal is to make this basti self sustainable. Your help will go a long way, and would be making a much needed difference in the lives of these underprivileged people.
