NAMASTE DOCTOR
Days have gone with hours and hours of searching for doctors, medicines, oxygen, plasma, hospital beds for extended families and friends. The suffering and inadequate resource supply chain has left us all shaken. But also, the magnanimity of people from all across the world has come as a beacon of hope for all of us. While the government has created an imbalance, citizens and people from all over have come together with all the help they can. Our team members have been working on the ground, micromanaging deliverables, with the hope that the little efforts we make, can be immensely significant for another’s life. With this message, we come to you for help. We need your support in our mission to help vulnerable families in the state of Rajasthan, whose lives have been completely devastated in the last few months.
One of our primary targets is to reduce hospitalisation with the help of early detection and early medication. According to the ICMR guidelines, evidence has found that early covid medication significantly reduced the risk of urgent care visits, emergency department assessments or hospitalisation. Due to the current crisis, vulnerable families have limited or no access to doctor consultation, prescriptions and medicines at mild or moderate stages of infection, where the infection can be alleviated with the right medication.
Around 30 volunteer doctors have joined us in our efforts to co-create an early detection and medication covid helpline called 'Namaste Doctor' that provides tele-consultation to patients pan-India and even abroad. Patients are connected through our platform to our volunteer doctors and prescriptions are prepared. Medical kits including medication, inhalers, nebulisers, pulse-oximeters are then prepared and delivered to home for patients who are in Jaipur and in need. Patients from other parts pf Rajasthan will be provided financial aid to procure the prescribed medicines. We hope that a little helping hand from us, will save them from devastation and facilitate quick recovery.
