A Rocha India is part of the A Rocha network, which is a global nature conservation organization with a presence in more than 20 countries. Since our inception as a public charity in 2003, our mission has been to foster resilience and tolerance for wildlife conservation, habitat conservation, and the needs of local communities in the Bannerghatta-Hosur landscape through integrated approaches involving dedicated and passionate influencers.
 
In India, the annual cost of human-elephant conflict is estimated to be 1 million hectares of crop damage, 10,000 to 15,000 damaged properties, 400 human deaths, and 100 elephant deaths. In India, nearly 50 million people rely directly on forests for food and nutrition, and they require support in mobilizing resources to maintain their survival while breaking the cycle of poverty.

Your contribution will help to do precisely that, as well as contribute to the long-term improvement of people's socioeconomic statuses. A Rocha India intends to accomplish this through the development of microfinance schemes, soft skill training, the mobilization of aid for revenue generation, community-based conservation models, and the creation of income production models.
