Adolescents living with HIV face unique challenges when it comes to accepting and treating their diseases. Many adolescents are in denial, afraid, misinformed or lack familial or social support.
At Sunburst Camp, life skills that address the critical issues on medication adherence, HIV/AIDS disclosure, and sex education and prevention and risk behaviours are taught. Besides this, we teach independent living skills, such as interviewing for and maintaining employment, being of service to the community, and understanding that financial responsibilities are a necessary part of their personal growth and development at this stage of life.
What is needed is your help to assure the continuum of our services for adolescents living with HIV. Our goal is that youth receive optimal health care into adulthood and psychosocial programs that continue to inspire a hopeful future.
Please, throw your arms wide open, reach into your abundance and help us build a brighter future for adolescents living with HIV by making a donation today.
