House of Stray Animals' was founded by Sanjay Mohapatra and his beloved daughter Late Shiva in the year 2007.

She was 15 years old when she passed away, she was a sweet, kind and caring indie dog, who was always ready to give her food for other stray animals.

Even after her Sanjay Mohapatra has kept the legacy of GIVING EVERY DOG IT'S DUE.
With years of struggles he opened a 24/7 clinic for stray animals' treatment at Noida, Sector - 54.

Where he has dedicated all his life savings and energy to keep it standing in rain and storm.
But alone he is not able to arrange medicines and pay the salary of his employees at his clinic
He has exhausted his life savings and needs your help to keep his clinic available for all strays that are surviving in harsh conditions with wounds and fevers.

The life of a dog is not easy, especially on the street. Every new day is a day of survival for them, if they miss death by accident by an inch, then they have to dodge the death by starvation, if they find some garbage, if they find some garbage to survive the starvation, then they have to look for shelter to sleep at night, and if they somehow spend the day surviving and sleep then don't wake up in a heavenly world, they wake up at the same place with the same need to survive and dodge death everyday just to find the basic needs of food, water and shelter.

As if all of these problems were not enough they were given only one way of communication that is barking and just because of that they get beaten up every other day.
If they walk past a shop and wish for a biscuit they instead get stone thrown at them, for sleeping under someone's rickshaw they get stones pelted on them, just because of looking for food in garbage they get thrown stones at them, and just because they were born on someone's doorstep they get thrown away with garbage because they are voiceless.
They have the hardest life to live, they get beaten up for the smallest reasons, yet they come to you if you call them and they will still trust you because they have no idea about how cruel this world is, they think everyone is their friend and everyone is there to give them a little love and 2 biscuits.

The fortunate being the ones who are living as pet members of the human population. The left ones, or the major part to be more appropriate, live their life being hated by most of the people and being called as street animals.
The picture is much less rosy than it seems to be. The fortunate of these animals is, however, limited.
According to world health organization (WHO), more than 35 million dogs in India come under the category of “stray animals”.

Surprisingly, the pet dogs we talked about earlier, contribute to less than 15 million of the total dog population in India. The picture is very much similar for cats.
The sufferings of stray animals are not limited. They are mercilessly slaughtered, transported, tortured and left starving leading to their death.

Seeing a stray animal die is a wretched feeling. The average lifespan of a dog is around 10-15 years. The pets have a higher life expectancy than the street dogs. Most of the stray animals die much earlier than their natural lifespan.
They do not die of old age but because of infection, disease, starvation and devouring poisonous food. Shockingly, many people deliberately give poisonous food or shoot the stray dogs and cats to fetch some bucks.

A day might be reckoned as a ‘lucky day’ in the lives of a stray animal when they are offered food instead of making efforts to hunt it. Less often, since both dogs and cats are carnivore creatures, they get another ‘lucky day’ and get some scrap of bones and flesh of dead animals, insects, and rats to feed on.

Finding a suitable shelter becomes arduous when they are at odds with the weather. While summers are quite easier to spend outdoors, winters bring with it a new obstacle in their lives. Unlike pets, homeless dogs have a very thin layer of body hair as they are barely taken care of making them vulnerable to the chilly and sharp winter winds. They are impelled to find a shadowy and warm shelter such as beneath trees, cars and using rejected clothes to cover themselves

They collect food, run around and sit aimlessly to nothing but to spend the life that they have been gifted. Some dogs are seen to be moving around in bunch while some are alone. They have made a new family or parted away with one.

Please help Sanjay Mohapatra in treating, feeding and sheltering the stray dogs who are victims of every day struggle and cruelty.
