Diagnosed with blood cancer
Once he got admitted at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institutes and Research Centre, he underwent some tests. The test results were out in a week and delivered a blow to Gurpal and his family – he was diagnosed with B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia , he requires chemotherapy. They were soon given more bad news – the treatment required would cost the family Rs. 15-20 lakhs. They couldn't even dream of being able to afford the cost of the treatment.
