Who we are?
My name is Kanchan Rawat, 33, born and brought up in Delhi. After volunteering in different non government organisations in Delhi NCR, I left my well-settled city life and moved from Delhi to a very small village of Uttarakhand, Talwari Estate, in 2021 and started working as "The Brain Gym Study Centre" for poor farmer's kids and women empowerment in rural Uttarakhand.

After a year! I asked for support but nobody helped because I was told that I am not a non government organisation but an individual social worker. Whereas, in these past years I have spent every single penny of my pocket to keep continue these development activities to empower poor people of rural uttarakhand.
What we need?
To fulfill the basic need such as, roof at top, wet floor to sit, electricity for proper light, and expenses of awareness and skills development activities, etc, we need to form a non government organisation. And build a centre where we can resume our modern education and women empowerment programs, without any interruption. Also, there are people who are working with me without any selfish motives or money in returns, I need to take care of everything.
I am in urgent need to save our self-initiated education centre "The Brain Gym" that helps poor farmer's kids and women who are victims of domestic violence & poverty, widow, abandoned, & handicapped, of Talwari estate and nearby villages of Chamoli Uttarakhand. I arrange digital education for kids who cannot afford quality education due to poverty and awareness activities for women. Without any financial support from government or non government organisations I am fighting to manage all the expenses of this centre for more than a year.
What we are facing?
The ceiling of the room where we are running this centre is leaking badly and could collapse any time. There is no electricity in the room so we had to teach in the dark, sometimes. There is no toilet facilities available, so the girl students have to endure the consequence of urine control. Due to broken doors and windows, incidents of theft, gambling and drug consumption are increasing at the centre.

I chose modern techniques such as digital learning, English language, theater, social events of international & national celebrations, etc, to teach children and women of nearby villages.
Most of the time, due to unfavorable circumstances, we had to teach our children outside the centre, outside the public toilet, or wherever we got the space. But this is not the solution.

Without any financial support I somehow managed to run this centre which now has become the hope so many nearby villages, whereas, we are in crisis of being roofless.
I'm looking for people like me or people who wants to give their participation in bringing the change in our rural society. Do Join us in this mission because thousands of poor kids and women of rural are looking at us for their better future.
