Help us bring hope -- Asha -- to migrant labourers and daily wagers in Delhi/NCR during the Covid-19 lockdown. Let's stand together and take care of each other in this hour of need.

Campaign Asha In A Nutshell
-- NOIDA COVID RELIEF 2020 - So no one goes to bed hungry...
Thiis project has reached 20,211 migrant workers and daily wagers with Dry Ration Kits (between March 30, 2020 and May 29, 2020).
-- MIGRANT TRAVEL SUPPORT - So everyone gets home safe...
Given the ground realities and how they are changing, as of May 27, 2020, we have also been working on providing non-perishable food kits for migrant workers and their families on their journeys home.

DETAILS ABOUT OUR WORK
As we know, the Covid-19 lockdown has impacted the lives and livelihoods of thousands of migrant labourers and daily wagers who work across Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Currently stranded without a source of income or food, they are struggling to survive.

1. NOIDA COVID RELIEF 2020*
enCOMPASSion - a Goonj partner - is working actively to support migrant labourers and daily wagers survive the lockdown.
We provide Relief Kits (dry ration, hygiene, and vegetables) to our migrant labourers and daily wagers, who are stranded without access to livelihood or sustenance, in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. We also respond to SOS calls from some parts of Delhi.
As of May 29, we have reached 20,211 migrant labourers and daily workers, thanks to your support.

To ensure our Relief Kits reach our target demographic, we have instituted the following process:
1. Robust Verification:
Once the request comes in on our online form, we do a telephonic verification followed by an on-ground assessment.
2. Coupons: For larger requirements, we distribute Relief Coupons prior to Distribution.
3. Sourcing: Through Goonj Relief Kits, or through procurement from wholesalers.
4. Distribution: In coordination with the local police departments, and through dedicated, trusted volunteers.
5. Social Distancing and Safety: The support from the police department also ensures that all guidelines of social distancing are followed.

2. MIGRANT TRAVEL SUPPORT
Now, as the lockdown restrictions are easing, many people are trying to make their way home. Even though transport for these workers is beginning to be arranged back to their home states, they often find themselves relocated from one place to another, with long waiting hours and no clear destination in sight.
Given the current situation, as of May 27, enCOMPASSion has added a pillar to our relief work: to provide NON-PERISHABLE FOOD KITS to workers beginning their long journeys back home, as it may often be the case that they will find themselves with no food for many hours, even days at end.
For Travel Kits, we have relied on crowdfunding through this campaign, and through donations in kind.

GET INVOLVED!
We invite you to be part of this chain of support, do contribute and/or spread the word!
Through Campaign Asha (Hope), we ask for your help to make sure no one goes to bed hungry, and everyone goes home safe. Stand with us and help us to get everyone through this crisis.
Every drop counts!

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. Donate monetarily:
Any contribution you make goes directly towards ensuring that our RELIEF KITS and TRAVEL KITS reach those in need,
Given ground realities and price-fluctuations, our RELIEF KITS cost approximately Rs. 1500. This is sufficient to feed a family of 5 for about 2 weeks.

2. Help us spread the word!:
Please share this campaign widely, so we can reach our goals!

*We want to acknowledge our collaboration of Fidus Law Chambers through the first two months of this project. As they shift focus to supporting those impacted by Cyclone Amphan, we hope to continue the work in the coming months.
