Chandrakala is the 8 year old daughter of daily wage labourers from Lingsur, Karnataka. In an age where some parents totally neglect a female girl child’s education, Chandrakala’s parents, even though barely making it, admitted her in an English medium school recognising her talent and intelligence. They had lost their other child, a son, just last year due to pneumonia.

However, as fate would have it, Chandrakala is now suffering from acute kidney disease, and is admitted in Shanti children’s hospital, Bagalkot, fighting for her life. Her acute kidney disease is totally recoverable, provided treatment is continued, however her totally helpless parents are considering withdrawing treatment because of lack of funds. The entire family of 15, depends on 1acre of land for their livelihood. They had even taken a loan against it for her treatment so far, but are now considering giving up.

The cost of her treatment so far has been ₹1 lakh and is expected to require another ₹2 lakhs. Please help Chandrakala’s family save their daughter and a bright young girl child fight a totally recoverable kidney disease and live her life fully.
