I am Ganga Bhavani. I am a 30 year old intersex person based out of Goothi village, Ananthapur district, Andra Pradesh. I identify myself as a transwoman. As an intersex person born in a poor Bahujan family, they took care of me the best they can. I studied general nursing and midwifery. While studying I worked as a domestic worker and post finishing my GNM I worked as a caretaker of children, worked as a home care nurse, and worked as a research assistant in NIRD on a contract basis for 18 months. During COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh, I worked as a staff nurse in a government general hospital from which many of us were removed abruptly without even paying pending salaries. Right now I am working as a daily laborer in construction work in Ananthapur.
With a great amount of pursuance, the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated me 2 cents of land under the transgender person's quota for house construction. As I aspire to build a small house on this piece of land in the current circumstances it won’t be possible to do so all by myself. To build a small house with a Non-RCC roof I am doing this fundraising campaign. I need the help of Rs. 4,50,000/-.
