In Narsingi, Hyderabad, Telangana next to the Musi River there is a massive landfill that covers around 2 acres of land. We aim to convert this landfill into a beautiful garden/park/nursery.

Although the allocated land for the landfill is 2 acres, the piles of waste (some of which are over 20 feet tall) have spilled over and covered around 7 acres of land. The waste spills into the Musi River destroying the ecosystem and has caused over 100 cows/buffaloes to die upon consuming the waste. Furthermore, around 30,000 families are living within a 2-mile radius of the landfill and are susceptible to the various diseases that may arise from this careless dumping of waste.

So far, with the help of the municipality and local construction companies, we have used the dug-up soil to compress the waste underground, in a way that stops the leakage of leachate and sludge. However, there are several more tasks ahead of us to achieve our goal, for which we require funding.

We strongly urge you all to donate to support our cause. The funding will be used towards procuring good soil and plants, leveling, translocating trees to the garden, designing and building the park, creating a trail for people to enjoy the natural beauty of the Musi River, attracting birds and other animals to re-build the natural ecosystem.
