The 2019 Brahmaputra Floods, till July 16, affected a total of 52,59,142 people, 1,63,962.02 hectares of crop area, in 30 districts in the state of Assam. And this year the number might go far higher and unfortunately we all are in the middle of a pandemic where social distancing is a must.
And here comes,'Friends For Floods' - a youth led flood relief and fund raising campaign to help all in need. We plan to help those in need by whichever means we can, complying to every norm laid down by the government during this pandemic.
We haven't registered as an NGO as of now,but we plan to do it soon, right after the pandemic ends.
Our resources are always national, but our cries, agony and problems are not. May it be national media or eminent people, Assam has been always neglected and looked over by mainland India with a step motherly attitude. This time we need you. Come up with your smallest contribution,as every drop counts and makes a mighty ocean. Assam needs you. Our people need you. 'Friends for Floods' need you. Your contribution can make a Herculean change.
With every donation we receive we directly reach out to those people who have been affected by the floods and provide them relief. When we’re talking about relief, what we’re providing is a ration kit. The ration kit consists of basic essentials like rice, dal, mustard oil, salt, soap, etc
