Rasadrishta is Etram's first classical dance production being released online. The complete execution of the production, including rehearsals and shoot, has taken place during the pandemic. We hope to raise funds through your support and make this production reach as many as possible.
Rasadrishta - an approach of conveying simple stories of emotions with a classical touch. These emotions are collectively studied as Navarasa. “Navarasa” is a traditional concept that describes 9 different emotions. Putting that together with “Adrishta”, the Sanskrit word for “unseen”, we present Rasadrishta: a production telling the untold stories of the common world through the medium of classical dance.
Although Bharatanatyam is deeply imbibed in traditional infrastructure, the art form unlocks millions of contemporary ideas for the artists. The choreographer Lakshmy Ramakrishnan quotes that, “As artists, we look forward to making the art form more accessible and understandable to the current society using technology. This is exactly what we are trying to achieve, a modern twist to the vocabulary of the traditional form.”
