• It is an effort to create a safe and transparent institutionalized avenue to bridge the gap between the privileged and underprivileged sections for the overall development of society.

How will the “ Beneficiary” be selected for Social Adoption?
• On the basis organization’s baseline surveys, we identify the beneficiary girls and conduct vulnerability assessments with our selected parameters.
• Based on vulnerability assessment, we shortlist the beneficiaries in extreme need due to dire circumstances such as losing their parents, living with a single mother, being homeless, being ragpickers, etc.
• After shortlisting the beneficiary, we take consent from local guardians to enroll the beneficiary and to make her profile for social adoption.

In India, the probability of girls getting primary education is about 42 percent lower than boys, and it remains so even when other variables, such as religion and caste, are controlled. Barriers to their development include poverty, child marriage, inequality, gender-based violence, lack of basic amenities, etc. The covid-19 pandemic has badly impacted the lives of slum-dwelling people. It has made them more vulnerable, especially those young girls who lost their bread earners during the pandemic, which left these girls amid various social evils like child marriage, human trafficking, sexual abuse, and many other heinous crimes. It is time now that we, as socially responsible persons, shall take responsibility for these vulnerable girls by adopting them socially and providing them with social security, which will encourage them to be empowered and live a respectable life.
