    SAAHAS FOUNDATION

    from India

Concerned with the growing number of stories regarding acid attacks in India, Asian Boss recently traveled to Mumbai and met Daulat Bi Khan, an acid attack survivor who started a foundation to help other acid attack victims. Watch her full story here  ►  Life as an Acid Attack Survivor in India | ASIAN BOSS
Having experienced firsthand the lasting trauma that searing acid leaves on one's life, Daulat is intimately aware of the multitude of struggles, hardships, and needs that are had by countless other acid attack victims in India. And with the help of her organization, Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation, Daulat has dedicated her life to supporting as many acid attack victims as possible on the issues that genuinely matter to them. Yet endowed with only scant funding, Daulat's current outreach is limited—especially compared to just how rapidly these senseless acts of violence are increasing throughout India.

In meeting with Daulat, we witnessed the sheer physical, emotional, and financial hardships that acid attacks have caused so many other women and men in India. We grew so shocked and dismayed at what we encountered that we immediately decided to help support Daulat's foundation in any way we could. In addition to sharing Daulat's story, we established this crowdfunding page to raise funds with the hope of extending Daulat's care to every victim in need of assistance.

By providing the means to help expand Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation’s outreach, this crowdfunding will help cover the costs for the surgeries these survivors so desperately need. It will help build a shelter home for acid attack victims who have been shunned and abandoned by their families. It will help build the supermarket, the hospital, the gym, and the rehab center that will both assist and employ survivors, giving them the ability to live with full independence. But most importantly, it will help provide these victims, whose lives were very nearly taken away, a renewed sense of hope and possibility for a new life.
