    COVID patients

    from New Delhi, Delhi

We require your urgent help to battle the COVID-19 wave that is crippling large parts of India. India is facing its fiercest health crisis that is devastating families, destroying livelihoods and crippling entire cities. The unprecedented rise in COVID-19 patient numbers, has overstretched the healthcare system and all medical facilities. India is seeing lakhs of new cases on a daily basis with thousands of patients requiring high volumes of oxygen just to survive. Hospitals across the country are not only out beds, but also under oxygen scarcity. Doctors and patients are in dire need of sources to help them battle this deadly disease.

Having a reliable oxygen supply is currently critical for the care of COVID-19 patients to improve the probability of survival. Supplemental oxygen is a first essential step for the treatment of severe COVID-19 patients.

In the first phase of the campaign we secured funds to bring in 100 Oxygen concentrators with 10 litre capacity. These are expected to arrive in India this week.

Now, we are in the second phase of the campaign – converting a school to a field hospital.

With the help of the Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare and Alshifa Hospital, Okhla, Delhi, we are converting The Scholar School located in South Delhi to a large 50 bed field hospital. This hospital will be equipped with
  • Oxygen cylinders
  • Oxygen concentrators
  • BIPAP machines
  • High flow oxygen therapy units
  • ECG machines etc.
The field hospital needs about INR 3 crores (USD 400k / EUR 350k /  GBP 300k) to run at full steam over the next two-three months. Aster Volunteers has kindly already supported some of these funds.

The concentrators being imported into India will also be partially stationed at this field hospital.

Together, if we act fast, we can save thousands of lives. Make your contribution count in saving lives, donate urgently! Share the campaign widely.
