Nepal is reeling in the second wave of COVID-19 with infections rising to 8000 per day and 200+ lives lost per day. The incline in the number of death rates shows that the number may triple in a matter of weeks. With a severe shortage of oxygen, hospital beds, and other life support, healthcare systems have already broken down and the window to support patients is getting shorter every day.
Under Fintech for Health, a collaborative project initiated by ACCESS Health International Southeast Asia, MetLife Foundation, and Nepal Institute for Policy Research (NIPoRe), we are raising funds to procure oxygen concentrators and distribute them as needed to public hospitals that serve families, specifically those in low- to middle-income groups.
Funds raised will be used to purchase and supply oxygen concentrators from overseas to public hospitals in Nepal such as Namuna, Myagdi District Hospital, And Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
We aim to provide a total of 10 oxygen concentrators, at a total cost of USD 10,000, to these hospitals so as to ease the oxygen supply gap that has become life-threatening in Nepal.
How you can help?
We welcome your generous contributions to help purchase the oxygen concentrators from overseas suppliers that will help save an estimated 4000+ lives.
