Pre-primary education in India provides a culturally sound environment for the children and instills the right values to help them grow both mentally and physically. By creating a formal learning environment for children, pre-primary school education helps them to understand the importance of learning and discipline.

Pre-primary education in India is not a fundamental right. In rural India, pre-primary schools are rarely available in small villages. But in cities and big towns, there are many established players in the pre-primary education sector. The demand for the preschools is growing considerably in the smaller towns and cities but still only 1% of the population under age 6 is enrolled in preschool education.

Bright Star Charitable Trust encourage the the parents to enrolled their children in these schools programme. This children come from the neighbouring slum areas in Mumbai and belong to the poorest of the poor communities with parents engaged in low-income generating livelihood activities. Very often, it is not just the economic situation of the family but also their familial situations which are troubled. This, coupled with the lack of educational inputs from parents or extended family members, hinders their normal learning progress.

The children are the future of a nation. There is growing evidence from the fields of neuroscience, social science and psychology that the first five years play a significant role in children's learning. Therefore, it goes without saying that due priority should be given to address the needs of the children through Pre-Education by its more efficient implementation.

With the help of this project we want to support 200 underprivileged children from slum area. Emphasis should not be laid only on nutrition and immunization while implementing this project, but the children in their most impressionable early years must be prepared for formal school and a bright future. It is only then, that they can blossom into healthy and educated citizens our country can be proud of.
