Glad Bharat Paathshaala is a local learning center of Glad Bharat Foundation, started with the goal to connect every child with school and education.

In the Gaya district of Bihar, there are many areas where children still don't go to school. Parents are not concerned for their child education due to their poor living conditions. With COVID, there are many children who discontinued their school and education.

We identify the areas where more than 50% of children don't go to school. 

After that, we start communicating with the local community to find a solution to this problem. The community comes to the conclusion to send their children to our local learning center, Glad Bharat Paathshaala.

We bring 50 children in a batch at Glad Bharat Paathshaala, where a teacher from the community takes the responsibility of teaching them for 2 hours each day, 5 days a week. Children are given basic knowledge of the alphabet, numbers, colors and poems. They are engaged in a learn-while-you-play activity to raise their interest in education and school. At regular intervals, mothers are counseled by the Glad Bharat Foundation Team and teacher(Leader) of the paathshaala to take steps for their child's education. The maximum duration of children at Glad Bharat Paathshaala is 1 year, after which mothers themself enroll their children at nearby schools. 

After enrollment, mothers keep track of their attendance.

(Earlier we enrolled directly in nearby schools and the idea didn't work as the children after a week of days discontinued their school as they were least interested in school and education.)

We started Glad Bharat Paathshaala in 2021 after the lockdown, and till today, from 6 Glad Bharat Paathshaala, we have mobilized mothers to enroll 540 children at nearby schools after one year of learning at Glad Bharat Paathshaala. Children are continuing their schools with good attendance.
