Dear Sir/ Madam
It is to bring in your kind attention about a very unfortunate situation our family has stuck into, and we are now only left with the option of assistance from Govt. and other welfare agencies.
While leading our regular life, we had been blessed by a Baby boy back in year 2008 – Like any other proud parent, we too had been filled with joy, and enjoyed every bit of our parenthood till Jan 2014. It was in this year, when our only child Chandranath Banerjee had been first diagnosed with Blood Cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). However, he was carrying a normal life for last three years after along-term treatment of 2 years. Unfortunately, on August 2019 he was diagnosed with Relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (i.e. come back of the disease) and is now under treatment for chemotherapy at Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. In course of treatment of Chemotherapy, the hospital informed us that our son needs to go through Bone Marrow Transplant to be cured. This treatment needs to be completed by December end.
The entire cost of Bone Marrow Transplant has been estimated at approx. INR. 35,00,000 (Document from Tata Medical Centre attached). As expected this amount is too high and beyond our reach as I am the only Earner in my family. This is in addition to the various other expenses which I have already incurred on the treatment and I have run in heavy debt.
I am a resident of Birbhum district (West Bengal, India) of the age of 42 years and my wife is a house wife. Regarding my family background, my father had been in farming and could hardly managed to meet the basic expenses of our family. He is also now old and dependent on me for his living. So, my entire family is dependent on me. I have already spent an amount of over INR 18 Lacs in the last 6 years on the treatment of our son and these expenses have been met by taking loan from bank and other sources. I work in a private company in Kolkata. I was also forced to take a break from the job to attend my son during his illness. This entire treatment process has made us heavily indebted as my only source of income, my employment, is not sufficient.
Since this treatment is the only way to save life of our only son, I am requesting to extend all possible help so that I can complete the treatment of my son. We would remain obliged for this kind favor which would be a great help in the present unfortunate situation.
