Chaitanya Special School is a division of charitable trust the” Mahila Samaj Seva Trust”. Mahila Samaj Seva Trust in Kundapur, Karnataka has been serving the community for the last 7 decades with a deep sense of commitment to the upliftment of the basic social standing of women and children.
History
January 1st, 1997, we opened the daycare center (Chaitanya special school) for underprivileged children. We started with 3 children, a teacher, and a helper to 30+ students and 10+ staff members today through donations from friends & family.
School Routine
School is open 6 days a week, from Monday to Saturday
School begins every day at 9-30 AM with a prayer followed by the Physical exercise and Yoga class.
In the classroom, students go through self-care and life skills training.
Speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, and physiotherapy sessions are provided based on their needs.
Special education includes English, Kannada, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Problem Solving, Thinking & basic computer skills
Curricular activities are singing, dancing, and sports.
We also train our children in activities and pre-vocational skills like making phenyl, doormat, paper cover, flower making, gardening, etc.
The school has wellness checks through doctors from IMA once in 6 months. Once a year, we take the children out for a picnic. We celebrate various festivals and conduct parent-teacher meetings once a month.
