Hi, I am Roshan Gupta, a bone cancer survivor. I had cancer at 16. Today, I’m 22.
Thanks to CanKids, I have completed my 12th grade, earned a Radiology diploma, and finished a year-long makeup artistry course at Blossom Kochhar College of Creative Arts and Design. This year has been special for me. I can now work as a freelance makeup artist, fulfilling a lifelong passion. I was featured in the Skill Council book as one of the 30 heroes of upskilling. After completing my internship, I am now a full-time employee at CanKids, fulfilling my purpose and supporting a cause that chose me.
But I’ve also faced challenges.
I struggled to pay my second-year Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) fees due to a lack of educational support. I had to borrow money to pay my fees, and I don’t want any other child to go through that.
Why This Matters:
I know how important education is. Education can break the cycle of poverty and open doors to a better future just like it did for me. Many children like me, battling cancer, face financial barriers to education. CanKids scholarships are a hope for us to continue our studies and pursue our dreams.
Currently, 326 children like me are awaiting their scholarships. Without this support, many of them can't go to school and are missing their exams. I urge you to help me make sure these children can keep learning and dreaming.
How You Can Help:
Together with the teachers of CanKids, I am reaching out to you to help us secure the scholarship awards for me and the other 326 children to raise INR 22 lakh (USD 26,000) to support the education of 326 children. On average, INR 6,800 (USD 82) will support one child.
Each of these 326 stars has a dream. Dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, scientists – dreams that can change the world. But without our support, these dreams may remain unfulfilled. We cannot let that happen.
Your donation will directly support the educational expenses of these children, covering school fees, books, and tutoring allowing them to focus on their studies and thrive despite their challenges.
