RST Regional Cancer Hospital has been the pioneer in Cancer treatment since it was established in the year 1974. From a very small unit with one cobalt Radiotherapy machine, over the last 44 years its has grown into a thriving 100 bedded Cancer Hospital which is giving comprehensive care under one roof at most affordable cost and free treatment to beneficiaries of various governments schemes.
On an average it is treating about 35,000 patients in a year of which 6000 are new patients. With an increasing number of cancer patients in the society and with rapid advances in modern cancer treatment, and with ever increasing need of multidisciplinary cancer Hospital at a reasonable  cost specially for the economically poor segment of the society, RST Regional Cancer Hospital has launched an ambitious expansion programme.
The foundation stone for a modern 200 bed hospital has been laid by Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis & Hon. Union Cabinet Minister Shri Nitin Gadkariji on 18th March 2018.
The proposed building shall have  200 indoor beds in various segments, 6 modular operation theatres, modern Diagnostics Labs, Intervention Radiology, Dental Unit, Preventive oncology unit, Palliative & Rehabilitation units., Neurosurgery, Pediatric Oncology, Research Cell etc.
This charitable hospital which at present has the official status of RCC (Regional Cancer Centre) is in a process of upgradation to TCCC
(Tertiary Cancer Care Centre) under a flagship programe initiated by Ministry of Health, Central Government.
This challenging task cannot be completed without the active support & generous help of the public for whom this hospital stands and proposed to expand.
