Chitta Ranjan Mondal,
Advocate Calcutta High Court
Sir/Madam,
With humble submission I am stating that-
Dr Biswanath Bala ,the Headmaster of Rajua Churpuni Amala Vidyapith and  founder of Biswabandhu Mission came of in a remote part of deltaic Bengal. Address of his birth place is village – Harinagar Colony, P.O-Amlai, Dist- Murshidabad, West Bengal ,India. His native village had no school during his primary educational phase and still now there is no school or academic centre in his  birth place. Hence he was to attend the primary school covering a distance about 2 kms, for the junior school 4 kms and higher secondary school 8 kms afar . From class IX to M.Sc he  himself had to prepare his food   staying in a rented accommodation near the school he studied in. In 1978 he obtained his graduate degree as a first man in his village and it is worth mentioning that still now in 2019 he is the first man to  possess a graduate degree. His  father was a day labourer and had to earn bare bread for the whole family . So  he did not spend a single penny more than the minimum need during my academic life. In 1981 he was appointed assistant teacher in a school namely Alugram.U.U M Vidyalaya (H.S) from where he passed H.S examination in 1975.In 1988 he has got his M.Sc degree and in 1997 he was awarded Ph.D degree by the Calcutta University. In 1981 as an assistant teacher he experiment a student of class V named Jalil Sk who was  easy for him to solve mathematical problems for him and he scored highest marks in the Annual examination but in class VI he was irregular in class  and ultimately stopped attending the school. As he was very free to visit the students’ house  he met his father and requested him to make his ward  attend the class regularly but in reply his father told me that he could not  due to poverty, he had to use the ward’s labour  for  earning their bread. He was moved to passion and finding no other way he returned back and prepared his mind to do something for the hard up humanity. During his teacher ship he had been offering free coaching to the needy students staying in the school boarding up to 1994 and in that year he was appointed Headmaster in Kharashgram Kalibala High School and used to stay in the school premises to uplift the weaker students free  of cost. During this time he was in search of a plot of land to set up a residential academic complex to accommodate poor students. In 1996 he was appointed H.M in Rajua Churpuni Amala Vidyapith  and discovered a plot of land to set up a missionary school exclusively for the down trodden people. In 2000 Dr Bala registered a Trust named  Biswabandhu Mission and    purchased about 15 bighas of land in 2001 in the name of the trust out of which 2.8 acres in the name of the Principal secretary ,Backward Classess Welfare ,Govt of West Bengal on behalf of the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal and he constructed a two storied building measuring about 4000 sq.ft floor area for school cum hostel for the poor students spending his last farthing and started their journey towards accommodating 40 residential  students of distressed class .Since 2002 the academic complex had been growing up with a number of ancillary wings like computer  training centre ,drawing school, agricultural farming, music school, dance school etc. has which been discharging its highest responsibilities to the SC,ST, orphans, minority students just to enable them to be at par with the main stream. In 2010 a building for Ashram Hostel for 100 ST students was sanctioned by the govt.  and the  building is complete. In 2014 Govt. sanctioned hostel charges for 100 students @ Rs.750.00 per head for 10 months a year for the students of V to X  but still now honorarium for the 8  teachers, 3 cooks, 1 super,1 caretaker is the mission authorities’ liabilities. The students of class I to IV are not getting this financial help. He was to spend major part of his salary he draws  as a Headmaster of a state run High School to run the Institution. Not only that but also he live in the mission   premises along with the students and share food they are provided with. His only son was admitted to an Institute of Ramkrishna mission. From there he also came to Biswabandhu Mission. Now he passed  M.Sc in computer science in BHU, Banaras. Many students without   facing admission test pass out each year with good academic records. Most of the students are first generation learners. It is a hard job to run the institute like this spending money, labour, intellect etc. taking strain owing to financial stringency and inadequate man power . His entire life has been dedicated to the students’ welfare. It takes much space to make vivid sketch of the whole enterprise.
The organisation namely Biswabandhu Mission is determined to alleviate sufferings of the left behind people.   Biswanath Bala , Managing Trustee of Biswabandhu Mission has been recognised by a number of awards  for his complete dedication-
Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Award-2003 from W.B by Dalit Sahitya Sangstha.  Siksharatna 2015 from
Govt of W.B  ,Jewel of India Awardee  2015 from Delhi by International Institute of Business & Management.       Rajib Gandhi Excellence Awardee,    2015 from Delhi by International Business Council            Bharat Shiksha Siromoni Awardee   2015 from Goa by Indian Solidarity Council.             Swami Nityananda Memorial Awardee,  2017 from W.B by Ramkrishna Vivekananda Mission.   Rastriya Siksha Siromani Awardee   2017 from Dehradun by Global Achievers Foundation,    Prayas Siksha Samman-2017 from W.B by Prayas.  Robert Burn Humanitarian Award nominated by Robert Burn Humanitarian Award Foundations
The organisation accommodates  more than 100 orphan, backward class, poor students of Rajua Churpuni Amala vidyapith and they are provided with two high tiffin and two square meals a day .Formal education of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in Bengali Medium is followed . Computer training, Sewing training ,drawing ,music school, etc are ancillary wings completely charitable for the inmate. To make a complete man with human value is the organisation’s prime concern.
.Biswabandhu Mission’s service is really a model for the other non profit organisation.
With the philanthropists’ contribution a great achievement is experienced.
Only Government can’t ensure over all socio-economic development of the people. NGOs play effective role in these regards. Biswabandhu Mission also complements the Govt’ policies. On good faith Govt sanctions welfare projects for the needy people here.
In many cases the organisation shows innovations in the academic field mostly in the primary and secondary levels.
From 15 years back man power and infrastructural possession shows effective handling of the projects. One can rely on the administrative efficiency a well as organisational capacity.
You would definitely agree that such a venture-however noble in purpose and ideal in efforts it might be-cannot succeed without the active help and support from the relevant departments of the Government as well as from the benevolent NGOs as also the solvent section of the society who can very well spare a bit from their purse for the betterment of their backward, poor illiterate brethren now sub-classed as degraded and depressed. God willing, those kind hearted donors supplying their mite for the furtherance of the undertaken endeavour the depressed part of humanity may get a chance to live up to the standard of recognized good living in a land where diversities seem to arrive a unity of purpose.
In consideration of the above I am requesting you to be kind enough to help and oblige. Thank you.
Yours Faithfully.
