My name is BIJAYA KUMAR MOHANTY residing from Cuttack, Odisha. Currently, I am in Tianjin, China working as an Electrical Engineer and I am raising funds for (CHIEF MINISTER RELIEF FUND, ODISHA) which is working towards to REBUILD ODISHA.
I am writing this request letter to intimate personally for my State Odisha has witnessed huge damage to the property & infrastructure (approximately 17000 Crore INR).
Cyclone Fani turned out to be worse than the 1999 Odisha supercyclone, the casualties have been kept at what appears to be almost a miraculous minimum.
"A record of 1.2 million people were evacuated in 24 hours and almost 7000 kitchens catering to 9000 shelters were made functional overnight. This mammoth exercise involved more than 45,000 volunteers".
Odisha continued its fourth day on Monday without electricity, cellular communication and efforts continue to restore water supply also.
* Huge numbers of trees have been uprooted resulting in disruption of road communication.
* Power supply snapped due to the uprooting of electricity poles, damage to substations and KV lines.
* Extensive damage has occurred to transmission lines and other electrical infrastructures.
*Telecom towers have been affected resulting in cellular and telephone network down in the wide area. All telephone and cell phones are down.
* A total of 140 trains including 83 passenger trains have been canceled so far.
* Viral Video (Z estate [Z1 Tower], Patia, Bhubaneswar): 250-Foot Crane Crashes Onto Building In Odisha A video of a crane installed at an under-construction sky-scrapper has gone viral on social media. The crane couldn't withstand gusting winds of up to over 200 Km/hour as it fell on the houses facing the building. It is not known yet if there were occupants in the houses.
