Baldeo Pal age 23 is suffering from Aplastic Anaemia, a rare condition in which the body stops producing enough new blood cells.
He was working in a cement concrete mixture company as a concrete mixture maker. He was a happy married man and it had been hardly 1 year since his wedding.
However, in the December of 2019, the entire family's lives changed drastically. Baldeo Pal suddenly got high fever and started having bouts of nausea. His elder brother thought that it was because of the scorching heat and got him medicines, but suddenly he got dizzy. At that time, they panicked and took him to the doctor's clinic.He was kept under observation while the doctors performed a number of medical tests. After two days, they sent him home with medications, but there was no effect of the medicines. Because of this, the doctors told his family to take him to a government hospital.
So they took Baldeo to K.E.M hospital and started his treatment there. While he was admittted to K.E.M hospital, initally doctors assumed the platelet count decreased due jaundice or dengue and started blood and platelet transfusion. But his reports were not improving. After that they doubted it to be Aplastic Anaemia so they sent his blood samples for bone marrow biopsy test and the report came out to be postive. That's why the doctor told them that the treatment of this disease is costly and asked whether they could afford it. Baldeo was then shifted to Shushrusha Hospital with reference of some relatives for better treatment (as the amount for this treatment was same beacause the amount is based on medicene which is to be bought from medical store). The only earning person in Baldeo Pal's family is his elder brother Hridaya Lal Pal who is working on a construction site for RCC construction of buildings. There is another medical tragedy in his family. His 7 year old son is suffering from a rare disease Osteogenesis Imperfecta in which frequently bones get fractured. For his son, he was already struggling for funds for multiple fracture surgeries. His brother's medical problem came up during the exact same time. His world turned upside down when the doctor explained to him the intricacies of Baldeo's condition. Since then, everything has spiralled downward for the family.
