Hello everyone I am Arup Thakuria, I with my friends runs an NGO(not registered) named AKANKSHA AXOM. We are based at a small town named Mirza in Kamrup district near Guwahati. That day it was raining heavily and I got a call from my friend Mustafizur of Horupeta village, Barpeta district. He told me how his entire village is drowned and how they are having shortage of everything from food to medicines and he was asking for our help like the last year.
As you all know the hacovs the flood has caused in Assam. Around 29 districts of the State and around 40Lakhs of people are affected. At least 71 people died.
We being based in a District where flood has caused the hacov know how the reality is and what it looks like. We have seen people crying for food and we have seen people's dreams plundered.
And by looking all this we can't hold back. Even in this challenging time we have decided to reachout to as many peoples as we can(by taking all the precautions) and for this we need your help.
We are are very much well experienced in handling and carrying out flood relief campaigns. Last year we have partnered with likes of CHILD HELP FOUNDATION, IIT-Guwahati, Biluptoo and other organisations to carry out flood relief programme in the Districts of Kamrup,Barpeta,Marigaon,Jorhat, Lakhimpur. And we have successfully provided relief to 2000+ families. This are the times when humanity is tested. We can never give the peoples what they have lost. But together we can give them some hope.
