Asangla Imti Needs Your Help to Fight Throat Cancer & Sacral Chordoma

Hello Everyone,

We hope you all are safe and healthy during these pandemic times. This Campaign has been raised for our sister Asangla Imti, 40 years old from Nagaland.

Our eldest sister Asangla has been battling two different types of Cancer and needs your help, love and support.
Firstly, We would like to give you all a back story of her battle with cancer over the last decade.
12 years ago she was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. She underwent two surgeries from Jehangir Hospital, Pune and was later moved to Ruby Hall Hospital, Pune for multiple Radio Iodine therapy sessions over the following years due to reoccurrences.

In 2017, she was diagnosed with a 2nd Cancer - Sacral Chordoma at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai where she underwent 40 session of Radiation. After undergoing her 40 sessions of radiation therapy, unfortunately her thyroid cancer reoccured and she had to undergo two more surgeries within a span of one month.

Now, due to the recent Covid19 pandemic crisis, her follow up in April was postponed. She had already been experiencing new symptoms and pains from her waist and below since Jan of 2020. Now these symptoms have progressed and she is now mostly bedridden. Over the course of 12 years her medical bills have amounted to lakhs and lakhs exhausting all her savings.

For further treatment, we now require financial assistance. Any contributions, small or big from you will immensely help in her fight against these cancers.

We Thank you so much in advance for all your love and support.

Dear Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in updating you all on my current condition.

I have completed my Radiation and now recuperating. Progress in my recovery has been ongoing, but there has been a few hiccups in my pain managements. We are in contact with my team of Doctors at Tata Memorial and making adjustments with my medications to help me through it all.

I am now awaiting a final MRI Scan scheduled for next week along with some Blood Tests and then we will go from there, provided there are no new negative developments along the way. Our Doctors will be able to assess the progress of the RT only after looking at the MRI Scan result so we are hopeful and continue to stay positive.

My Walking has been affected due to pain and infection on my right hip, so that is something I am continuing to work on, with physio exercises and medications. A few side effects of some medicines still linger but that is something that can't be avoided so am ploughing through it as best as I can.

I would like to personally Thank each and everyone one of you for going out of your way to help me and my family through this campaign and otherwise ... with all the love, prayers and support along the way. I might not be able to Thank you All personally by I am indebted to each and every one of you and my best wishes and prayers are forever with you and your families.

Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.

Forever Grateful and Thankful,

Asangla Imti and Family.

Hello everyone,

We wanted to update on the status of my sister's treatment. After meeting her Doctors at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai we were advised to take the Proton Therapy treatment immediately which is currently available only in Apollo Proton Hospital in Chennai. The cost of the treatment alone amounts to approximately INR.30 Lacs. After taking further medical advice from her doctors on if we could take a month or two to arrange the funds however due to her current symptomatic condition, he suggested not to delay any longer and to get the treatment done ASAP.
After much deliberation amongst ourselves and not having enough time to collect the funds in a short amount of time, my sister decided to undergo the Radiation available here at Tata Memorial hospital Mumbai. We have been informed that she will be undergoing 13 sessions of Radiation which will complete by the 2nd week of September.
We are withdrawing some amount (₹7,33,802 and $1,020) from whatever has been collected so far in Milaap for her current medical expenses and later for her throat and future treatment.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and staying healthy.

Thanking everyone.

Warm regards,
Imti Family

Dear All,

Thank you once again for the overwhelming generosity, love and support we have received from all of you. We are forever in your debt and will always remember you all in our Prayers.

Unfortunately, our sister Asangla's latest MRI report shows a new Tumor that is encapsulating her vertebrae in her spinal canal and we have been told that surgery is no longer an option. The best treatment for her is Proton Therapy however that is available only in Chennai Apollo Hospital and we are trying to consult with them. We will update you all as soon as we know more.

Sincerely,
The Imti Family
