We friends and colleagues of Arpit Bhavsar, know him to be a gentle individual, and a loving family man to his wife Nirali and 5 year old son Shaan. Arpit is a sincere and committed individual, who never hesitates to go out of his way to help others to bring a smile on their faces. We have known Arpit for more than 10 years now. Despite the difficulties and tragedies he faced at a young age like the passing of his mother when he was just 5 years old, he has always used his life experiences as motivation to achieve his dreams.  

Arpit now needs our help! We sincerely request one and all to open your hearts to help him fight his hardest battle for his life, against Blood & Bone Marrow Cancer (AML).

We are creating this fundraising page on Milaap, with a hope to garner financial support from both Indian and international communities in order to  help Arpit fight and overcome this serious life threatening condition.

THE DIAGNOSIS
On June 3, Arpit received devastating news that he has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), a type of blood cancer. This was confirmed with a bone marrow test on June 5. With an aggressive AML diagnosis, doctors started the 7+3 protocol treatment in the hospital without any loss of time on June 8.

After 5 rounds of chemotherapy, Arpit developed serious lung and liver complications, and had to be admitted to the ICU with oxygen support through a BiPAP machine. In just under 3 weeks, Arpit's expenses have been staggering and beyond his means:  

EXPENSES INCURRED SO FAR

• Initial expenses when Diagnosed: 60,000 INR
• Chemotherapy, Pharmacy & Hospital: 562,000 INR
• Chemotherapy Side Effect Mgnt. + ICU costs: 580,000 INR

Expenses so far have been met through small savings, and support from immediate family. Arpit's medical insurance of INR 100,000 is inadequate to cover above costs.

Unfortunately, the severity of side effects has forced doctors to stop his chemo protocol midway. The protocol will need to be restarted with hospital stay, in a bio-bubble, as soon as Arpit is strong enough to take the intense chemotherapy.

ANTICIPATED EXPENSES

• Chemotherapy, Pharmacy, Hospital Charges (2 Cycles): 8 - 10 Lakhs (1 Million INR)
• Pre stem cell Transplant activity: 1 Lakh INR
• Allogenic stem cell Transplant: 15 - 25 Lakhs (1.5 to 2.5 Million INR)
• The total budget including costs incurred so far, will be a minimum of 45 - 50 lakhs (4.5 to 5 million INR).
