My wife Akanksha and I have been associated with the cause of fundraising and installing fans in schools located in rural districts of Orissa for the last 2 years. Helping us in this effort is Biswajit Patnaik, a wildlife conservationist by profession who travels extensively in the regions we target. Through his work he identifies schools with working electricity connections but without any fans in the classroom. As a result this leads to extremely harsh conditions for the children especially in the summer months. Over the last 3 fund raisers we have procured & installed more than 100 fans in around 17 schools in the Hindol block of Orissa.

This year's fund raiser is even more special to me as it's being run to honour the memory of my late father Mr. Tulu Patnaik. Those of you who knew him know that he was an extremely caring and a generous man. He often donated generously to our fundraisers (Which we lovingly call the Fan club) and we couldnt think of a better way to honour his memory as we approach his birthday on 14th March. Our target is to raise INR 1 Lakh which will cover the procurement & installation of ~100 fans to cover ~15 schools in the Dhenkanal district of Orissa. As the harsh summer months loom I invite all of you to donate generously to make the lives of our next generation a little more comfortable. Remember, no donation is too small.
