Annu is a part of a small middle-class family. Her husband was working in a small BPO in Noida and she was looking after her inlaws in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The entire family was very happy as Annu was pregnant and as per the expected delivery date a new member was about to come by the new year.
Things become challenging last year when the lockdown was announced and many companies either reduced the workforce or did huge deductions in the salaries. This family somehow managed to keep up their spirit however things become worse when the pre-delivery checkup was done.
December was the expected delivery month and in November Annu was diagnosed with blood cancer. The entire family was in shock and they were not able to understand what to do.
Annu's husband Madan then rushed to his native and took her to the near by hospitals to validate the reports but of me help.
Annu is now at AIIMS, Rishikesh since the last 7 months, going through 3 Keemo Therapies so far as per the doctor's suggestions but things are not changing and the only hope is a bone marrow transplant.
Expected expense for the transplant is about 10-15 Lakh ruppees which is a challenge for this family. Madan lost his job to this year's lockdown and all their savings are already finished.
