Ankur Sharma, a 28-year-old engineer working with Infosys, recently met with a tragic accident that turned his and his family's world upside down. The impact was so severe that he collapsed on the spot and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Heartbreakingly, due to the critical nature of his condition, he was initially denied admission at the first hospital. When he was finally taken in and examined, the diagnosis was devastating, multiple brain hemorrhages, a deep laceration on his right leg, and a severe injury behind his right ear.

Ankur has been in a coma since 2nd week of April 2025, initially fighting for his life on a ventilator for about a week. His brain has suffered extensive damage, and doctors have found significant swelling in critical areas. His central nervous system is not responding, and there's currently no communication between his brain and body — a condition that leaves his recovery uncertain. His memory functions have also been severely impacted.

His mother is a homemaker, and his father is a retired railway employee. With limited resources, all medical expenses are now being borne by his younger sister, Bhawna, who is also running this fundraiser on Milaap to keep Ankur’s treatment going.

Doctors have shared that continuous, intensive medical support will be needed for an unpredictable period of time, and every passing day adds to the cost. Yet, there's hope that his brain will start responding, that the swelling and haemorrhages will reduce.
