Help us to sterilize 150 stray dogs of OU

Warm greetings,

I've started this campaign to support streetdogs_hyderabad team (a group of friends) who have been feeding the stray dogs(approx 230) which stay inside Osmania University, since lockdown. Due to the present COVID situation, Hostel canteens and mess are shut down and the dogs which rely on the leftovers are starving. That's when they've decided to feed them (crossed 150 days already) at least one meal every day until hostels resume back.

But they didn't stop there, they tried their best to make the dogs trust them which helped in getting the dogs vaccinated through ARV (Anti Rabies Vaccine). Plus they've got reflective collars for few dogs and also got them vaccinated with 7-in-1 shots.

7-in-1 vaccines help to protect dogs from diseases like Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Corona viral enteritis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, and others. Through research and inputs from fellow dog lovers, activists and me, they realized not only feeding the needy ones is important but to get them Sterilized is essential too and it helps them by improving their health and prevents uterine infections, cancers and tumors.

Not only that, it prevents testicular cancer and tumors around the anal area that requires surgery. Female dogs can get much more life-threatening conditions if they are not spayed. They can get a uterine infection called pyometra which requires emergency surgery.

Statistics:
If there is an unspayed female dog, she and her offspring can produce approximately 11,167 puppies per year.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says one unaltered female and her offspring can produce 67000 puppies in only six years.

The majority of those dogs don't even make it to the age of 1 year, they die cause of accidents, hunger, abuse, dog attacks, dehydration, and the list goes on...

There's no doubt in saying that it's really hard for a puppy, that too an Indian breed to get adopted into a loving family.

They have started the drive and got 10 dogs Sterilized and aiming to get at least 150 of them Sterilized with your help and support.

BUDGET:
1600rs to get one dog Sterilized. (1500rs - Animal birth control operation
100rs - transportation)

Target: 2,50,000  = (1600rs x 150 = 2,40,000 + 10,000 - medicines and miscellaneous)

Remember that by donating for their operations, you are not only helping them live longer but you are also gifting them a healthy life
