    This fundraiser will benefit

    Animal People Alliance Kolkata

    from Kolkata, West Bengal

We are Kolkatas first and only organization dedicated to street treatments for dogs and cats. We are based out of Behala and have a team of 6 highly trained and passionate team members that spend every day providing medical treatments and food to the street dogs and cats of the area. We are in need of funds to help us continue our work, which is even more urgent now, in light of the problems related to coronavirus.

Funds raised will be spent on purchasing medicines and supplies to continue our medical services for street animals. We will also use funds to support our street animal feeding program. We spend an average of 30,000 rupees per month for medicine and supplies and conduct an average of 200 treatments per month and 15,000 rupees per month for food to support feeding of 300 stray animals in the area.

The majority of our treatments are for road accidents (cars, bikes and buses); skin infections, injuries from dog fights and viral and bacterial infections. We also conduct two rabies vaccination drives each year, in January and September, and vaccinate an average of 300 animals each time. We also vaccinate every animal we treat against rabies and distemper.

Food is cooked and distributed by local volunteers, with our assistant, and consists of rice and meat and fish scraps donated by the local market. We also give biscuits to the animals we treat. The salaries and transportation costs for our team are covered by other donations.

We will provide weekly updates via photos and videos of our work and encourage local residents to volunteer with us to help with feeding.
