As we all are aware that the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic started on 22nd March 2020, and the entire nation was declared on lockdown for a period that was unknown to anyone.
Everyone was under the impression that the lockdown will be lifted within a fortnight or 30 days but it kept extending and till September 2020 it is continuing.
As educational institutions are shut till the lockdown the manpower involved in this school bus service to use to serve the students ferrying them to and fro home to school and back.
The manpower involved are school bus drivers, cleaners, and the bus didi’s (lady attendants) who are the worst hit by this pandemic and they have lost their jobs since April 2020 and now jobless till today
Most of them have not received their salary from their employers as reason stated by the employers was the parents have not paid their school bus fees so we are unable to pay the salaries.
Most of the bus didi’s are from below poverty line background or divorces or widows, who were working for their livelihood. The drivers and helpers have their families to be looked after and also they have to take care of their old age parents, schooling of their kids' rent of their houses, etc. . . .
None of the NGO has come forward to help these people from the school bus industry.
Being in the educational segments wherein we are aware of the hardship done by these bus staff so we gave a thought to help these people in need and deserve generous helping hands.
Through this platform, we urge and request all citizens to please come forward and contribute generously with open hands to help our brothers & sisters in desperate need.
Our organization is registered as OM SHANTI EDUCATIONAL TRUST bearing registration no.e-19512 dated: 05th July, 2001 under charity commissioner greater Mumbai region Maharashtra state.
