With a majority of India’s population living on the streets of this country, this long lockdown makes the underprivileged in the country the worst affected. Tens and thousands are going to bed hungry due to the shut down to fight this battle against Covid 19. While we may comfortably seek shelter in our homes, and protect ourselves from the spread of this virus, most people in India are facing challenges for mere survival.
Most importantly, children may look less vulnerable, but are  forced to bear the brunt of the raging pandemic on multiple grounds. Along with hunger relate crisis faced by the poor, the underprivileged children continue to miss out on opportunities because of the lack of facilities available to them. Only a handful of private school have been able to adopt methods of online educations, with the low income government schools having to shut down completely, further increasing the disparities among the rich and the poor.
Light De Literacy is an NGO working towards providing quality education for the underprivileged children since 2012.  ‘Light de Literacy’ means “साक्षरता का प्रकाश ” and the tag line “एक आशा नवनिर्माण की” clearly shows our vision for the future guided by the motto Educate * Empower * Enlighten. Amidst these pandemic, the NGO has taken the initiative to help out the children in need, along with their families, catering to their basic needs for survival.
It is time to use our privilege to create a society where all have equal opportunities and are able to live a life of dignity.
Please help and donate whatever is in your ability. No amount is small and may be able to save somebody’s life.
