I, Alak Mukherjee, have been suffering from Metastatic Adenocarcinoma Lung Stage 4 (Lung Cancer  EGFR, ALK by IHC negative, ROS, MET negative) from October 2017. My Tata Memorial Hospital Case No. is CP/34170. I initially underwent radiotherapy and subsequently 11 cycles of chemotherapy of Inj. Docetaxel and Inj. Gemcitabine at Tata Memorial Hospital and Narayani Superspecialty Hospital, Howrah.  However, the disease progressed rapidly and spread to my liver, pancreas, spleen, kidney and adrenal glands. As a last try Immunotherapy was suggested to me by my doctors. In spite of the fact that the cost of immunotherapy was beyond our means, I started immunotherapy (Inj. Nivolumab) on 23rd July 2018 with the help of family, friends and later on with the money I received from my early retirement scheme.

I have to take immunotherapy twice a month and each dose costs Rs 99,000. I have already completed 33 cycles of immunotherapy and will get my next dose on 8th November. My monthly costs including all medicines and hospitalization costs are approximately 2.5 lakhs. This has exhausted all my personal funds. However, my doctors have recommended that we continue with immunotherapy and that without it my condition will progressively worsen. So I need your help to continue with this treatment and fight this deadly disease. I suffer daily from intense pain and have to take morphine and other painkillers to get through the day. My left hand has collapsed due to the spread of the disease. I constantly worry about my family and my daughter and their future.
