Manik and his wife Lakshmi from Hallikahed, Karnataka, are facing any parent’s nightmare. Their 7-year-old daughter Akshara is suffering from CALLA positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (a type of blood cancer).

Akshara’s parents have exhausted all their resources. Manik has already spent all his life savings for the initial treatment.

“We have borrowed a lot of money from everyone and have already spent all the money we had. We are left with nothing right now,” he said.

As advised by her doctor, she needs to undergo BFM-ALL  protocol which includes six months injection based chemotherapy followed by oral chemotherapy for two years period and the estimated cost for the treatment and the supportive care would be Rs 6 lakhs.
