You can help plant 2000 trees(1st Round) in North India, helping to transform the landscape, local lives and tackle climate change. Together we can do this.
Who are we?
My Self Akash Campaign organizer from Punjab, India. In recent months i planted more than 100 trees from my own pocket money. One day i realize that i need to expand this project widely. So now i started this campaign to plant 2000 Sapling in 1st Round of Crowdfunding
I am focused on environmental conservation, restoration and poverty alleviation. Where possible we integrate these so that environmental restoration helps to alleviate poverty. Reforestation does just that. Not only does planting trees restore biodiversity, absorb CO2 and reduce soil erosion but it also provides livelihoods for some of the world’s poorest. Reforestation offers us the simplest, low-cost solution to tackling climate change, as well as providing livelihoods for the very poor and protecting and restoring wildlife.
Climate change is complex but the solution doesn’t have to be. Planting trees in the tropics holds the key to healing the planet and we can all make this happen.
An Ex Serviceman(Army) cooperative in Punjab, India, have saplings in the nurseries ready for planting and we would really like to help get them planted!
Your donation will buy the saplings from them who have grown them as well as pay them to maintain them, ensuring the saplings' survival in their first year of growth. (They have a 90% success rate!) They collect seeds from indigenous trees, germinate them and grow them into saplings which are then maintained until they have become established enough to survive on their own. The work this Men do is vital and your donation will support them to earn a living from the forest by planting trees that benefit us all.
Forests provide food and medicines that allow both humans and wildlife to flourish. Most critically, however, the trees absorb carbon dioxide - playing a key role in controlling the earth’s climate and proving pivotal to helping heal the planet.
In November 2015, the UN leader’s statement on climate change and reforestation said that we need more reforestation to avoid catastrophic climate change and that civil society was essential to making this happen...now more than ever, it seems.
Reforestation is rich in benefits and we have only highlighted one or two here. Critically we can all help reforest the planet to help avoid climate change. Never has it been more urgent, and our call to action is simple...
