Children with special needs seldom graduate in India. And this is not entirely because of their inability to cope with high school and college. Our educational system uses standardized methods that are ineffective in imparting knowledge and evaluating skills of differentially abled learners.
As a nonprofit residential school committed to recognizing talent and skills among special needs students, we place the greatest emphasis on personalised instruction. Coupled with the great level of attention, care and support in a safe and secure environment, our children not just thrive but blossom.
The confidence that we help them gain contributes to making them feel independent to live a full life in college and in their workplace. There is an untapped pool of future artists, entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in this community.
We strive to identify such gems and facilitate their learning so that they can make a positive difference in our world.
Our project aims to provide intensive therapy sessions for 30 intellectually and physically challenged children whom we have Identified already from poor backgrounds with uneducated parents.
The children will be assessed by a child neurologist and therapists for clear identification and classification of their difficulties and plan targeted therapy to get them into a normal school curriculum. This would enable the understanding and application of learning principles and advance their education.
NISSARC (Nithilyam Special School & Adelaide Rehabilitation Centre)will provide the necessary space for the therapists and children for this project. The main cost comes from the therapy sessions which have to be tailored according to the children's needs. We need an occupational therapist, Physiotherapist, speech Facilitator and a special educator for these thirty children. We will also need to arrange transport and food for them.
The total cost for the whole year would be ₹30 lakhs. (1)School building rent 3 lack per year
(2) Total cost and average cost per teacher 300000×12=360000 per month 360000 per year 1800000
(3) Devices ,foods, cloth, and other cost 5 lac per year This is the first project of this kind to empower underprivileged children and poor families giving an enormous boost to Their confidence.
