Patients with alcohol dependence and their families will be benefited from this fundraiser. We are working in the rural community where many young and middle age men are struggling with alcohol addiction. They belong to low socio economic strata of the society and most of them work for daily wages. A major part of their daily wages goes into buying and drinking alcohol which not only affect their health but affects the whole family. Their children are getting influenced by this habit and start drinking in very early age. Their wives have to do odd jobs to run the family. To curb this menace, we are working at the rural community and conducting various 7 days’ de-addiction treatment camps. During these de-addiction treatment camps, we are also checking their health status and doing biochemical analyses to check their physical and mental health status. After the de-addiction program, they are divided into small groups and they are followed up and kept motivated to be away from alcohol. After three months, they all gather again with the family to the camp venue and health status is check again.
This fundraiser is for the team working against alcohol addiction in the rural community and will be used for the detoxification treatment program including health checkup and biochemical analysis to check physical and mental health status of around 500 individuals.
