My Cousin Mr. Aatmaram Ghuge is fighting liver cirrhosis disease (irreversible damage of liver) and after suffering for the last 2 months his condition is not improving and becoming critical. He is being treated and had been hospitalized thrice in the last 2 months.
The operation cost is somewhere around Rs. 25 Lakhs (INR), plus there will be pre and post-operation expenses in the form of tests and check-ups, which will cost around Rs. 5 Lakhs. He has been quite ill lately and has been hospitalized. The cost could be more depending upon the complication level and other charges implied by the hospital. We have to manage this cost on our own, for which I am turning towards crowdfunding. We have already spent around 3 lakhs as of now, including Banding, Stenting, a series of Endoscopy, many tests, and of course hospitalization costs, but, the doctors have now said that these fixes will only give us time for a few more days until we go for a Liver Transplant Surgery, As he is the only earning person in the family, the situation is much worse.
A liver transplant can give him another chance to live life. We have a living organ donor in close relatives.
He has been in a very difficult situation as due to Lockdown and Covid his work life took a toll and to fight the situation he returned to the village to manage and have a living by farming, but things went south due to the sudden rains and climate change. He is out of a job and has little or no savings.
Aatmaram is just 36 and has a 14year old daughter and son, I request everyone to donate whatever they can to make this operation a possibility.
Each person can make a big difference. We all together can help save his life from the grip of this fatal, but curable, disease.
