I, Arshia Shariiff am writing this plea for 4 yr old Aarshi Hussain who was hit by a reckless truck driver on 6th October 2020 in Kolkata. Her father Sajid Hussain is a tempo driver and her mother is a tailor.
Since the pandemic, both are jobless and running pillar to post to collect funds for Aarshi’s treatment. The baby has suffered blood clots in the brain, spinal fracture, eyesight loss with paralysis of her limbs. They travelled to Bangalore to seek treatment at Nimhans but faced uncertainties and refusal at most Govt hospitals as the child was too small and scans were showing severe brain damage. However, Atrium hospital and Prabha eye clinic had taken up the challenge to conduct brain surgery and salvage the child’s vision.
On 5th April, brain surgery was conducted at Atrium, post-surgery with the passing of time, the child showed fluid leakage from the skull with persistent fever and Vomiting. Presently, on 9th September 2021, as we write this plea, Aarshi is on the operation table at Narayana Hrudalaya undergoing brain surgery. Parents are housed in a PG in Gurappanapalya, Bangalore, doing menial jobs to make ends meet.
The cost for surgery and further treatment is estimated at 8 lakhs. The family has already spent about 4 lakhs to date with support from NGOs for her treatment.
We request you to donate generously to reach the cost of treatment of 8 lakhs to support Aarshi.
