The Aarju Foundation (AF) is a non-profit, registered with the charity commission rate of Mumbai as a community-based organization that would essential working on marginalized populations and those affected and living with HIV, specific focus is provided on issues of Men who sex with Men population inclusive of transgender and hijra population in Mumbai and another district of Maharashtra.
A group of dedicated social workers and community activists established AF in the year 2005 aiming to improve the socio-economic conditions of the most disadvantaged population particularly of sexual minorities, marginalized woman, children and the unemployed youths in both rural and urban areas in Maharashtra through implementing program interventions in the fields of HIV prevention and care, poverty alleviation, non-formal education, adult literacy, health and nutrition, family planning, legal aid support, advocacy, and social protection.
Given the increase of cases in Mumbai, we all need to take responsibility to help the community in terms of food, water, rations, and daily survival.
