    This fundraiser will benefit

    150 families of Keetla village

    from Dausa, Rajasthan

Villages in Eastern Rajasthan are suffering from water scarcity immensely and women and small children walking many kilometers every single day just to fetch drinking water are a common sight.

Poor rainwater conservation is the root cause behind it. Every aspect of life is associated with availability of water. Its lack brings immense suffering for human, animals and to the environment.

Aarangar Environment Action Foundation (AEAF) proposes to create a Johad (a traditional rainwater harvesting structure) in Keetla. Keetla is a small village located about 35 km from Dausa and 90 km from Alwar (Rajasthan).

Creation of this single Johad will recharge totally dry 13 wells and 2 hand pumps in Keetla village making water available to the community. It will directly benefit 150 families and 600 animals.

Water is the single most important entity that can change the faces of a village. A pond in Keetla will provide drinking water to its people and animals, will reduce drudgery of women and children and will create opportunities for livelihood in the villages through enhancing agriculture and animal productivity.

It may appear surprising to many but availability of water determines whether a rural girl child attends school or spends her entire life in fetching water from remote areas.

Availability of water determines whether there will be livelihood opportunities in the villages for its youth or they will be ruined by unconstructive illegal options. Availability of water determines nutritional level among community members and rural livelihood opportunities and opens immense options for rural prosperity.

Creation of Johad at Keetla village will cost Rs.1,20,000. The work will be carried out with full community participation who will contribute in the work through Shramdan.

We request you to donate generously in order to enable us to create this water body in the village keetla.

We will keep updating photos and videos so that you can track the progress of the work and see the impact later on in the landscape and lives of people of Keetla village.

Please note that Aarangar Environment Action Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation. We are new and aims to carry out interventions with high positive impact on environment, rural prosperity and local livelihood generation. A detailed audit of expenses for donors will be provided at request.
