    This fundraiser will benefit

    Angels Orphanage - Shivajinagar Bangalore

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

We the children of Vidyashilp Academy Bangalore, are working with the WFUNA (World Federations of United Nations Associations, a sub-organisation of the UN) to make the Angel’s orphanage, the home to 50 children, a better place. As a part of our WFUNA project goals, we have been tasked to undertake a local community service project with the goal to help and provide relief to the underprivileged. For this community service activity, we are required to take guidance and work in line with the United Nations’ seventeen SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

We, a group of eight Grade 8 students from Vidyashilp Academy, are helping the Angels Orphanage address the problem they are facing for providing hot water for the children’s needs. They are unable to afford the high electricity bills for heating water. Hot water is being looked upon as a luxury because the management of Angels Orphanage prioritizes the funds for the other critical needs of the children such as food, education and medicines. However, with the cold-water showers, small children often take ill. During our discussions with the management, we all decided that one of the ways we could help them is to provide for the hot water but using renewable energy in line with UN’s SDG number 7: Clean energy. This SDG focuses on ensuring access to clean, renewable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

Hence this fundraiser campaign is to raise funds for installing the solar panels at Angels Orphanage. We invite you to join us, in our endeavour to help and support the little angels at Angels Orphanage by improving their living conditions - the first step being installing solar panels.  PLEASE DONATE GENEROUSLY FOR THE GOOD CAUSE. We will be happy to share the progress and final results with the kind donors.
