#Urgent #SOS

This community has not got any sustainable help so far. They are surviving on one time meal or sometimes they sleep with empty stomach. They say, "Kismat ki baat hai, jis din kismat me hota hai khane ko mil jata hai".
Can  essential requirements like food really depend on destiny. Its a question for the capitalist system. In this area, transgender people who are more vulnerable in this lockdown as they deal with hunger, stereotypes and harassment over all.

"Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater                                         than to do something for others."

Who are we?
We are a SANG (संग),  group of young individuals who have come together with a simple motto in our hearts: "Locking down hunger, together" to aid communities who are, unfortunately, seeing their lives crash in front of their eyes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

What are we doing?
We are collecting funds that are being used to supply food (wheat, rice, daal, and oil) and soap to families facing the worst backlash in this 21-day lockdown. We are targeting a community of at least 1000 families. We will expand as and when we get to know more communities in need. Total amount needed: Rs. 10,00,000 .

Battles are to be fought on every front in this trying time and while we cannot fight them all, we are determined to do whatever we can.

All of us have the passion to do our bit in these tough times and most of us have the experience of working with the communities of migrants and daily wage earners who struggle to put food on the table when we continue to lead normal lives.. This situation has reduced their resources to naught. Since many of them are deprived of documents essential to get government aid, there is little hope on that front. There are about a thousand such families that we know of and we are determined to help them survive and emerge from this dark phase.

How are we doing it?
The members working for our initiative belong to different parts of the country and so we are working to aid several communities at once by collaborating and working alongside local NGOs and several local members based near the targeted communities. Our plan of action is to identify ration shops with the required essentials in the vicinity of the communities. Funds generated by this campaign shall be spent at these specific shops to procure pre-made aid kits. The kits containing wheat, rice, daal, and oil and soap will be distributed in the community under the vigil of trustworthy community leaders (identified by our members), equipped with safety kits to avoid the spread of the infection and constant updates shall be taken from the field to ensure that this campaign runs smoothly.

The above model has been successfully channelized in the North Delhi (Majnu Ka Tila, Vidhan Sabha, and Khyber Pass) region of the capital. These are small starting points, with your support we hope to cover communities across India.

Why are we doing it?
Honestly, because we care and we know you do too. Our hearts go out to those running the risk of starvation, but the lockdown precludes us from feeding them first-hand. We have thus, kick-started this initiative. The world needs your love and support more than ever before. Let it flow!

What have we done so far?
We have been engaging and coordinating with the community in North Delhi (Majnu Ka Tila, Vidhan Sabha, and Khyber Pass), community leaders and the ration shops. In just two days of kickstarting, our team has raised Rs 1,00,000 and is reaching out to 54 families who are in critical condition. These are small starting points, with your support we hope to cover communities across India.
Battles are to be fought on every front in this trying time and while we cannot fight them all, we are determined to do whatever we can.

The world needs your love and support more than ever before. Let it flow!

Dear donors,
With almost 70%+ raised for out first distribution in Bihar (Madhepura district), we are going ahead with first 75 families and hence withdrawing rs. 75,000 directly in the vendor's account (Future trading managed by Shambhu Nath Singh- 9835623690).

Your generosity has enabled us to impact thousands, and we thank you for it. The impact created has been created by YOU and us together. We want to be as transparent with our efforts as much as we can. We want to assure you that 100% of what you donate goes directly to communities (except the payment gateway charges which you must yourself be aware of). If and when we do need your help us continue our work with our volunteers as well as our community, we will ask you and you will know that is what you are donating for.

As a youth led organisation, we strive to create a space that makes it easy for young people across the country to come up and create an impact and for donors like you to support us without worrying about where is your money going. To ensure that we walk the talk, we request you to reach out to us at info@sangcollective.org with any suggestions you might have on how can we update you with our work the best. We look forward to hearing from you and keep doing the work we want to do.

Dear Donors,

Thank you for being so supportive of this campaign. It is because of your support that we have been able to do the work we intended to do and are providing help to those who need it.

Currently, we are working in Sitamarhi, Bihar along with the panchayat head Ritu Jaiswal. 500 kits and some tarps have already been sent through donations in kind.

We will be withdrawing funds to the account of AP Deepo Bhava Foundation which is the trust set-up by Ms. Ritu Jaiswal herself, as we wanted to be transparent in dealing with the funds. A sum of ₹18,407 has been requested which will be used to buy tirpal for mud houses in Sitamarhi. Our target is to buy it for 2000 houses.

We will soon be sharing pictures and videos of the work being carried out. Thank you once again to all of you for your support. We request you all to keep supporting us as you have.

Warmly,
Team SANG
