SKILL DEVELOPMENT
The pandemic called for adapting to disruptive changes including equipping ourselves with digital technology but it has not been a level playing field, given the huge digital divide in the country. It means that access to learning has been hugely impacted. This impact has been even more pronounced in case of skilling that calls for hands-on training.
The pandemic called for adapting to disruptive changes including equipping ourselves with digital technology but it has not been a level playing field, given the huge digital divide in the country. It means that access to learning has been hugely impacted. This impact has been even more pronounced in case of skilling that calls for hands-on training.
Therefore an action plan is out as a skill development program to provide training to unprivileged people in India so that they can have their own basic living livelihood. It includes creating employment opportunities through different vocational skills I.e. training or skills that are needed for a particular job which includes computer, sewing, cutting, handicrafts or art pieces, tailoring, repairing ,beauty treatment & basic IT skills which allow people to pursue financial independence and help in their skill development. It’s aim is to impart education and skill development in children, youth and women so that they can live a life of dignity and respect. Poverty is pronounced deprivation in well being and comprises many dimensions including low income and inability to acquire basic goods and services necessary for survival. Therefore, financial independence is crucial for breaking cycle of poverty through significant improvement in the chances of employment and make them earn a dependable livelihood for their family needs. Since childhood, healthy peer interaction and environment of learning infused such confidence in them for winning over challenges in life and they can find jobs very easily their success not only helps them and their families but serves as an inspiration to others and help us realise our dream of helping needy members of society who only need a little support and a platform to show there caliber.Such initiative of vocal training for unprivileged is very important for raising employment social equality and sustainable development. Government should implement skill development initiatives so, that these skill development initiatives can help countries become more competitive by increasing employability and labour productivity leading to structural change and economic growth. ‘Vocal for local’ should become mantra for every Indian to achieve the goal of ‘Aatmanirbhar bharat’ that is self reliant India as said by our honourable Prime Minister .This self reliant Indian campaign is expected to support and strengthen various sections of our country and boost developmental journey of India . Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is an industry relevant skill training that will help people in securing a better livelihood. Hamari Pahchan NGO has taken up initiative in teaching vocational skills to various men and women in across many slums of Delhi since 2015 and has taken active participation in the initiative for vocal for local and has provided vocational training to 1200 women providing them with opportunity to earn livelihood and has sold those products made by underprivileged women across the globe. For the skill development project, the organisation is also preparing a short term Diwali campaign to provide an opportunity to earn a living by selling the products made by them at the workshop. Therefore, nobody irrespective of what should be deprived of their right to skill to earn basic livelihood.
