Shiji V.U is the daughter of Sreedevi M.K. Shiji is hailing from a poor family in the state of Kerala. Her father and mother had been seperated in her childhood itself. She had been raised by her mother Sreedevi. Sreedevi is a house maid. With the little earnings, sreedevi had provided shiji with the school level education. Now Shiji is an intern in a medical laboratory in Cochin. Shiji's marriage is planned for 28th October 2018. Sreedevi, her mother was planning to apply for a loan for meeting the 'small marriage' expenses. Unfortunately due to the recent floods in Kerala, all the banks have made restrictions on new loan sanctioning. Sreedevi has been approaching all the nearby banks for getting a loan sanctioned, but the result is worrying.

I came to know about Sreedevi and her daughter from a close friend of mine. Sreedevi is working as house maid in hers too. When she told me about this, i felt so sad about their situation. I was thinking about how to help them. If me and my friend alone contributes, it will be a small amount only. Then i thought about crowd funding n fund raisers. I came to know that milaap is the best fund raiser platform in India.

I got inspired from the golden words of Hellen Keller, "Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much".
